Russian Ag Ministry sees 2019 wheat harvest at 75–78 mln tns
MOSCOW, Mar 5 (PRIME) – Russia’s wheat harvest will amount to 75–78 million tonnes in 2019, the Agriculture Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
“According to a forecast by the Russian Agriculture Ministry, the wheat harvest will amount to 75–78 million tonnes, at least 4% more than last year. If the conditions are favorable, the forecast can be raised to 80 million tonnes,” the ministry said.
The overall grain harvest is expected at 118 million tonnes. “The production growth will satisfy the domestic market needs with a simultaneous increase of exports of raw materials and their processing to reach the target of federal project ‘Agricultural Product Exports.”
